During a recent trail walk, I came across a family of deer. They paused and gazed at me for several moments, allowing me to truly admire their grace, strength, and natural beauty. This encounter inspired the creation of this painting, which includes the Bible scripture Habakkuk 3:19: "The Lord God is your strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills."
There are times in life when we must muster every ounce of strength we have to face difficult seasons, and doing so with grace, strength, and beauty is truly powerful. In this piece, I enjoy incorporating texture by using palette knives, various textured brushes, and, uniquely, including wood branches I found on walks around my subdivision after a tornado struck our area. Despite the destruction, I was still able to see the beauty that surrounded me.
It is created using fine artist acrylic paints and varnished for protection, while the wood branches are carefully sealed and glued to ensure durability.
