"Quiet Strength" is the newest painting in my flower girl series. It took seven years to create while I dealt with health challenges that left me feeling stuck and helpless. This painting represents the sadness of unmet goals, unanswered prayers, and loss.

As she faces these struggles, Quiet Strength learns to find power in her quiet moments. She looks to God for support, finding comfort in the words of Isaiah: “In quietness and trust shall be your strength.” Psalm 131 also reminds us of this, saying, “I have calmed and quieted my soul.”

Life can be tough, often feeling rough and bleak. Yet, even in darkness, a new day brings hope and growth, both physically and spiritually. Rediscovering joy marks the start of this new day.

I encourage you to calm your soul through prayer. In stillness, focus on what you’re grateful for. This will lead to contentment and joy. Your quiet strength will provide what you need when you trust in God.
